Summer In My Veins

from Last Words of a Parasitic Flower by Asserter

/

lyrics

Summer in my veins
That glassy dulls me clean
Makes me opposite to vain

Immaterial and clearly keen
Something artifically spiritual
So organically unforseen

And though I feel my life
At every moment in time
I don't mind the constant state of strife in mind
Curiosity's keeping me alive
Help me rest from my appetite

And though I don't claim to spite
I really don't seem to mind
Dwelling on wrongs that you won't right
I'm sorry if i'm stuck here inside
Far away and so fortified

The icy lakes have tumbled down
At least that's what the posters say
The walls of jericho fall around
and I'm just stuck here to stay

And the frozen maiden calls my name
Through hiss I hear her cry out in pain
To waste her time chipping through my blame

The dead have all but burned here
The fallen grass will never be the same
The trees don't mind if we just slowly wane away
And the feelings disappear into rain
Drowning in the domestic glow of caine
